If you have a golf GPS, you can easily track the results of each shot. Just take a photo of the hole showing the distance to the hole and include the club you are going to use for the shot.

Use the same for approach shots like this:

For putts, take a photo of where the ball is on the green, including the hole location.

This technique makes it possible to analyze how far each shot went, whether it ended up in fairway, rough, or a hazard. You can relive a round through these photos, even months later.
I recommend doing this when you are playing by yourself on an uncrowded course to avoid annoying your playing partners or others. It takes a bit of extra time for each shot.
Some golf apps allow individual shot tracking and may be easier than this approach. For instance, Arccos makes sensors for your golf grips that track distance and accuracy for each shot.
